Stone beds are a durable, low-maintenance alternative to mulch — they resist erosion, barely fade over time, and stay put year after year. We install decorative stone in every style, from river rock and dry creek beds to black granite and Belgium block borders.
"Q&A is excellent; a definite 10 out of 10. They stoned-in my hillsides and they do my yearly leaf removal — with any problems, they responded promptly. When I found out that Q&A does driveway replacement, my search for contractors halted."
Using stone in your beds is a great alternative to mulch due to it lasting considerably longer, but it is more costly upfront. This solution is almost completely permanent, with the only maintenance being a small addition of stone to worn out areas every few years. Stone barely fades over time and proves much more durable against erosion.
We utilize different types of decorative landscape stone including but not limited to river rock of different sizes, various grey stones, tan stones, and deep red stones. For steep hillside stone installations we recommend a larger jagged stone like #3 limestone or a large jagged red stone.
All of our landscape stone installations include laying down a heavyweight premium landscape fabric first to keep the weeds out of the bed. A common addition to these stone projects is a premium landscape border such as continuous concrete borders or Belgium block edging.
